2025 SUSTAINABILITY REPORT: CACAO WITH PURPOSE FROM THE ORIGIN

At Machu Picchu Foods, we present our sixth Sustainability Report, sharing the main progress, actions, and impacts achieved throughout 2025 across environmental, social, economic, and governance areas.

Institutional and Financial Management: Growth with Purpose

During 2025, we strengthened our institutional and financial management to continue growing with purpose:

  1. B Corp Certification: We obtained B Corp Certification, reaffirming our commitment to generating sustainable, inclusive, and regenerative value throughout the entire value chain.
  2. Customer Satisfaction: We achieved a 95% overall customer satisfaction rate (CSAT), based on a portfolio of more than 280 global customers.
  3. International Presence: We consolidated our position as Peru’s leading exporter of cocoa derivatives, chocolate, snacks, and confectionery, reaching more than 40 countries across five continents.

These results reflect a solid, transparent, and long-term business model. Sustainability begins with trust, which is why we work every day to create shared value with partners, customers, and communities.

Environmental Management: Regenerative Cocoa and Clean Energy

We are moving toward a more environmentally responsible production model:

  1. Renewable Energy: The Callao and Pisco plants operate with 41% renewable energy, and 16 collection centers have photovoltaic systems.
  2. Carbon Footprint: Our Carbon Footprint was verified under ISO 14064-1:2018, receiving recognition from MINAM for the second consecutive year.
  3. Life Cycle Assessment: We made progress in the Life Cycle Assessment (LCA) of cocoa together with PELCAN-PUCP and strategic industry partners.
  4. Caosacha Project: We inventoried 5,416 trees across 339 farms and trained 60 field promoters as part of our zero-deforestation policy.

Each environmental initiative reinforces our commitment to reducing our footprint and promoting shared responsibility, so that every cocoa bean reflects this commitment.

Social Management: Education and Women’s Leadership in the Field

We continue to focus on human development and the well-being of cocoa-growing communities:

  1. Wiñay Program: Through the Wiñay program, 650 children across 5 schools benefited from the initiative, representing a 66% increase compared to 2023.
  2. Ñawinchay: We implemented libraries that benefited 196 children across 2 schools.
  3. Nuwa Muun Program: The program reached an average productivity of 1,152 kg/ha, exceeding the 2022 baseline by 34% and establishing itself as a replicable model of women-led regenerative agriculture.
  4. Geo-literacy: We trained more than 110 field promoters and cooperative representatives through the Geo-literacy program, reducing geodata collection errors by 30%.
  5. Financial Inclusion: Banked payments for cocoa purchases increased from 71% in 2024 to 87% in 2025.

Behind each of these achievements is a story that demonstrates the power of collaboration. Fieldwork promotes inclusion, education, and equity, creating real opportunities for the families who make Peruvian cocoa possible.

A Commitment to the Future

Each of these achievements reflects a comprehensive vision of sustainability: a balance between profitability, social responsibility, and environmental stewardship.
